CSS vs. Tables

Do you layout with tables or use CSS to its full potential? A very serious question. For my part, working as a designer in both print and online, the draw a table approach is a more instant approach though it is limited and such a fumble. CSS is great, though whenever I try to set up a complete CSS layout everything goes very messy indeed
